Long Time — Pt. 2
by J'Wellsgriefforgivenesslove
I chose to run the streets like Tupac with his thugs,
While you were waiting at home for my love.
I disrespected you in more ways than I can count,
Never apologizing for bringing different women into your house.
No wonder you hate me, but your love ran deep,
Understanding that I was walking while asleep.
You gave me time to wake up.
I saw the good I had before you finalized our breakup.
Then I was arrested and hauled off to jail.
Sentenced to life in a small cell.
Restless on my bed poring over thoughts.
I left you when you were pregnant, I can't excuse that part.
I burned the candle at both ends, sowed my royal oats.
Days turned to months before I finally awoke.
I realize that I left you when you needed me most.
The damage is done; I can't fix what I broke.
