Conscious Reflection — Part I
by J'Wellsgriefforgivenessdark night
Trapped in the memory of a painful past.
Reliving the misery every so often.
Grief electrocutes my heart suddenly.
I become a prison of mistakes.
Regrets visit me to remind me where I've been.
A lesson not to walk that path again.
I destroyed many with acts of foolishness.
Relationships now lay in ruin.
If only I could turn back the hands of time.
I caused one of God's faithful ones to stumble.
A milestone should be tied around my neck and thrown into the sea repeatedly.
Living in a prison of selfishness.
No one mattered besides me.
Cherishing my own pleasures most.
It's hard to be happy when you caused others to lose sight.
My heart condemned me, disapproving of my selfish ways.
Relive them to see what foolishness pays.
Travel back to the point of being lost.
The point where the line was crossed.
When conviction set in mentality freezes.
Witness an immature state from maturity.
The past can never be undone.
Nor the pain so many have felt.
Yes, death would be easier than living with my memories, but still I live!
