Broken and Contrite
by J'Wellsrebuildinghopeself worth
On broken ground underneath the surface,
Are riches if toiled, bring purpose.
Separating the weak from the mighty,
Unearth the worth hidden in our bodies.
Life beyond flesh and blood,
Light within the soul, gold covered by mud.
I'm sure mining would hurt, if mountains could feel.
Oh, but what precious treasures are found by a drill.
Is it worth the pain, of digging up dirt,
Or don't disturb the ground and end our search?
As for me, I'll dig to the depths of my soul.
To a place untouched by moth or mold.
